4" Pot

A deep 4x5" square pot is our standard. Well-developed roots help the plant establish quickly.  All plants are in a 4" pot unless otherwise stated.

Plug Flat

A plastic tray with 38 plants.  Single-species or pre-designed kits. Economically plant larger areas. 5" deep and spaced for optimal crown growth.

Gallon Pots

Large round pots filled with shrubs or mature plants for garden showpieces.

Short Stuff - 2' or less

Many native plants are majestically tall - waving in the breeze, towering over non-native grasses, and providing tier after tier of wildlife resources. The tallest of the tall are featured on our Plants of Significant Size page. However, sometimes less is more. Shorter native plants can provide a rich layer of habitat and beauty without obstructing views, obscuring landscape features, or annoying neighbors who haven't yet seen the light. If you are looking to slip some native plants into the landscape without creating a fuss, here is a collection of plants two feet tall or less.*

*Usually. Every garden is different. Sometimes a plant that is normally 18" will find a garden that is a nirvana of rich soil, stimulating competition (or lack thereof), and perfect light and will reach unprecedented proportions. In addition, I've included a few grasses that have foliage two feet or less, but have delicate flower stalks that may extend closer to 3', without being very visually prominent. In general though, these are smaller plants.
