Sweet Black Eyed Susan - Rudbeckia subtomentosa

Rudbeckia subtomentosa, also known as Sweet Black-Eyed Susan or Sweet Cone Flower, is a perennial wildflower native to southern Michigan.
Plant reaches 5 feet tall and flowers from August to October with a yellow blossom.
It prefers full sun to partial shade, moist to medium-dry soil and will grow in muck, clay, loam or moist sand.

Unlike regular Black-Eyed Susan, this sweet version is a true perennial and is a showy plant for pollinator gardens, rain gardens, and meadows. Its common name comes from its fragrant foliage.
