Pale Spiked Lobelia - Lobelia spicata

Pale Spiked Lobelia - Lobelia spicata

Lobelia spicata, or Pale Spiked Lobelia, is a perennial wildflower native to Michigan and the UP. It is found in meadows, shores, and rocky areas, especially those that are seasonally wet. Moist to medium-dry loamy soil, with full to part sun. Drought tolerant once established, but keep seedlings moist.

This is a cute, midsummer flower that will add a delicate pop of white to your plantings. The spikes have tiny white or light blue lobelia-shaped flowers that are popular with a variety of native bees, small butterflies, and skippers. Lobelia - collect them all! The bees will thank you.
