Mountain Mint - Pycnanthemum virginianum
Pycnanthemum virginianum is also known as Mountain Mint. It is a relative of mint family and not as aggressive as domestic mint. It's a perennial wildflower native to Michigan.
Mountain Mint can handle dry soils but really shines with good moisture. Clumps of white flowers are great for pollinators. Tastes a bit like thyme and can be used as an herb.
Plant reaches 3 feet tall and flowers from June to September with clumps of white blossoms popular with pollinators and butterflies.
It prefers full sun to partial shade, medium to wet soil and will grow in muck, clay or loam.
